Suggested Age 10-14
The MMAS Jr. Performance Team picks up the pace as it continues to challenge the young aspiring musical theatre performer. Targeted to students ages 10-14 with 2-3 years’ prior experience, this musical theatre course is designed to further develop and refine the three key areas of musical theater performance: singing, acting, and dancing while preparing participants for future local and regional theatre competitions. Jr. Performance Team participants will continue their musical theatre studies while rehearsing and performing material from the hilarious 80’s flashback The Wedding Singer, a musical satire that asks if a talented wedding singer will ever actually get married. Using select songs and scenes from The Wedding Singer, including solo and group work, The Jr. Perf. Team trains students in the disciplines of musical theatre performance. Material subject to change based on class size, dynamic and ability.
