Take the Stage is a course designed to train young performers in the art of musical theatre performance. It serves to identify, strengthen and enhance each student’s performance skills, self-esteem, and self-expression. Students train and practice choreography, improvisation, acting, staging, and vocal work while preparing to perform before a live audience on the MMAS stage.

This spring Take the Stage students will work on material from Disney’s 1997 film: Hercules. Featuring songs such as “Gospel Truth” “I Can Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say I’m In Love,” Hercules tells the story of the wonder boy figuring out where he belongs as he saves Greece from Hades’ dastardly schemes.
