To assure the safety of our students and families, The MMAS Academy will suspend ALL CLASSES AND PRIVATE LESSONS starting tomorrow, Saturday, March 14 due to the Coronavirus. We will re-evaluate on Sunday, March 29 and hopefully begin classes that week. Right now the intention is to resume classes and extend into May to make up for all lost time. Before finalizing start and end dates however, we will need to assess how things are progressing. We thank you in advance for your patience while we navigate this situation and determine the safest next steps. This is a day by day situation so we will provide frequent updates as needed. Thank you for your understanding. Be well and be safe. Dori
Summer 2020 classes are already registering! Each semester holds weekly dance and theatre classes, private lessons, and adult classes. During the final week of classes, faculty members host open classrooms featuring the students’ work, giving family and friends opportunities to observe students’ progress in a performance setting. This intimate showcase includes faculty feedback, photo opportunities, student introductions, and post-performance talkbacks. Additionally, there are specialty workshops throughout the semester. Our highly anticipated specialty workshops give students concentrated and rewarding opportunities for accelerated training. We also have availability for private lessons with our educators.
Our Faculty The MMAS Academy is extremely proud of their dedicated and talented faculty. The MMAS faculty cumulatively holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theatre, education, theatre pedagogy, music therapy, musical theatre, choreography, and dance pedigree. Our diverse teachers are committed to lifelong learning while bringing a wealth of skill, experience, passion, and joy to their students and classrooms.
Founded in 2015, The MMAS Academy was established under the well documented premise that performing arts participation provides students a creative outlet that innately fosters transformative life skills. Whether a student is participating for fun, professional training, exercise, or improved technical expertise, our degreed and dedicated faculty serves the specific interests of all participants. Preschool, grade school students, teens, college performers, and working and retired adults join MMAS every year to study dance, theatre, and voice. If you are starting out, revisiting training, or looking to polish your skills, The MMAS Academy has something for you!
