Teen-Edge Rep: Red Tee

Directed by: Dori Bryan-Ployer & Bobby Zupkofska Tuesday: 4:00-6:00

Class Minimum: 5 participants. Class Limit: 10 participants. Virtual Limit: 10

Teen-edge Rep has two purposes. First, it was developed to train teenagers exclusively in the art of acting: focusing on voice, (breath, projection, diction, language) body, (presence, ensemble-work, character, stillness) intuition (listening, responding, mindfulness) and script scoring (objective, obstacle, environment, relationship, progression). Teen-edge Rep’s secondary purpose is to use ensemble-based plays of topical subject matter on which the participants can rehearse and perform their newly developed skills. In the Fall of 2020, students will be exploring Red Tee by Lindsay Price a play centered around themes of gender, traditions, and labels. This vignette play examines questions of identity and what happens when someone doesn’t fit in the way everyone expects them to, a topic that proved to be of great interest to our students during our summer 2020 Devised Theatre course.

Auditions for Red Tee will be held on Tuesday, September 15 between 4pm-7pm at 888 South Main Street, Mansfield. Students can also request a virtual audition. Students who will be coming in person should wear a mask face into the building and remove it only for their audition. Monologue options will be sent to students once they request and confirm an audition time. Please email Academy@mmas.org to schedule an audition.

Start and End Date: Sept. 22-Dec. 16, 2020 (2 additional rehearsals will be scheduled as cast availability allows)
