Synopsis: A world where nothing is what it seems, religions collide, Machiavellian plots are revealed, promises are broken, secrets are exposed and hope springs from the most unlikely of places…. AUDITION CONTACT: Please make an appointment to attend one of the Preliminary Vocal Calls on Tuesday, May 14th or Thursday May 16th.
Preliminary vocal calls will be scheduled through the audition contact and an arrival time will be provided on receipt of scheduling. Everyone is required to attend the Dance Call which will follow your scheduled Preliminary Vocal Call.

Callbacks will be held Saturday, May 18th. If you cannot attend either the preliminary audition or callback but are interested in auditioning, please advise and we will work to make alternative arrangements for you to be seen.

Vocal Call: Please Prepare 32 bars from a Contemporary Broadway Show, Song Cycle or a selection in the style of It Shoulda Been You (i.e. Jason Robert Brown, Jeanine Tesori, Scott Alan, Kooman and Dimond, Kerrigan and Lowerdermilk). Please provide your own sheet music and clearly mark your music for the accompanist. No Acapella auditions will be heard.

Dance Call: Please bring athletic or dance attire to change into for this portion of the audition. Ladies should wear character heels and men should provide Oxford dance or jazz shoes. Baggy and loose-fitting clothing is not recommended.

Callbacks: Please be prepared to cold read selections from the libretto. Those attending the callbacks may be asked to sing from It Shoulda Been You Score.

Rehearsal Schedule: We are looking to rehearse Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm-10pm and Saturdays from 1pm-4pm. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, May 28th, 2019.

Albert The wedding planner and narrator.Gender: Male Age: 40 to 60

Jenny Steinberg Co-maid of honor and bride’s older sister. She plays second fiddle to Rebecca. The show is told through her perspective. She does not know her sister is hiding a secret and has always liked Marty.Gender: FemaleAge: 25 to 35

Rebecca Steinberg The bride, marrying Brian who we later find out is in a relationship with Annie. Gender: FemaleAge: 20 to 30

Judy Steinberg Mother of the bride, controlling and overbearing. She does not like Georgette and wishes Rebecca would marry her ex-boyfriend Marty. Gender: FemaleAge: 40 to 60

Murray Steinberg Father of the bride, kind and grounded. He wishes Rebecca would marry her ex-boyfriend Marty. Gender: MaleAge: 40 to 60

Brian Howard The groom marrying Rebecca who we later find out is in a relationship with Greg. Gender: MaleAge: 20 to 30

George Howard Father of the groom, wealthy, privileged and forces Brian to make Rebecca sign a prenup. Gender: Male Age: 40 to 60

Georgette Howard Mother of the groom, an alcoholic who does not want her son to marry Rebecca. She does not like Judy and wishes her son were gay.Gender: FemaleAge: 40 to 60

Annie Sheps Co-maid of honor who we find out is Rebecca’s secret lover. Gender: Female Age: 20 to 30

Greg Madison Best man who we find out is Brian’s secret lover. Gender: MaleAge: 20 to 30

Marty Kaufman Bride’s ex-boyfriend who is aware of Rebecca’s secret. He has always liked Jenny and tries to crash the wedding. Gender: Male Age: 20 to 35

Mimsy/Aunt Sheila A Waitress who assists Alfred and is part of the Greek Chorus. This role also doubles as Rebecca’s trashy Aunt.Gender: FemaleAge: 40 to 60
