MINDFUL ACTING/SCENE STUDY with Dori Bryan-Ployer

This master series offers the adult actor the opportunity to workshop monologue or scenes within a community of fellow actors. Emphasis will be placed on relaxation, speech, beats, and the use of imagery. This interactive class will afford actors the opportunity to perform, observe, and strategize best practices for monologue/scene preparation and performance. Borrowing from a number of theatre pioneers including Stanislavski, Meisner, Adler, Strasberg, et al actors are invited to attend bring their own monologues or scenes or choose from a selection of material provided. All levels of experience welcome.
Eight-week workshop $99.00 ($90 for MMAS Members)
Dori Bryan Ployer is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory, Cambridge College, and Emerson College and is currently pursuing her doctorate in education through Lesley University. Dori has directed and choreographed throughout Southeastern Massachusetts including Bay Colony Productions, The Buckley Performing Arts Center, and Dean College. Some of Dori’s credits include: Spring Awakening, Godspell, Chicago, Rent, Hairspray, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Producers. Dori is an adjudicator for the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild (METG) and a respondent for The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). Most recently Dori was invited to become a board member on the Holbrook Cultural Council. Dori has been nationally recognized for her work as an educator, director, and choreographer.
