THE MMAS BLACKBOX THEATRE IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE AUDITIONS FOR:
Out of Order by Ray Cooney
Directed by Michael McGarty
Synopsis: 1990 British farce. The play features a lead actor Richard Willey (in this case a junior UK minister) in the Westminster hotel, who has to lie his way out of an embarrassing situation ‐‐ a planned adultery with a secretary with the help of an innocent side‐kick George Pigden (in this case the minister’s personal private secretary). A far worse problem arises – in the shape of a dead body stuck in the window of their suite. As Richard shouldn’t be with the young lady in the first place he can’t report the body to either the hotel management or the police so he manages to get George get more and more embroiled in the increasingly tangled tale that he improvises as events unfold. Richard’s wife, a wily waiter, a suspicious hotel manager and George’s mother’s nurse add to the mayhem when a private detective shows up on the scene.
